Frenectomy

The frenum is a fold of skin extending between the inner part of lip and the oral mucosa close to the gum line. If the frenum is positioned much higher than its normal location, it could result in opening the gap between the teeth and or recession of the gums. A Fenectomy is the procedure aimed at removing frenum. This helps to close the space between the teeth and to avoid recession of the gums. In most cases diode lasers are used to perform this procedure.
