More severe gum diseases may have to treated by periodontal surgery. Periodontal surgery is aimed at improving the access and visibility to the deeper part of the periodontal pocket so that thorough cleaning of the root surface may be performed. Under local anaesthetic, our specialists gently reflect the gums away from the tooth. This gives us full access right to the bottom of the periodontal pocket. After thorough cleaning, the gums are sutured with dissolvable suture materials. We schedule a review for 10-14 days after the procedure.
Surgical treatments include:
- Access Flap Surgery
- Assessment and management of peri-implantitis
- Extractions and bone augmentation
- Frenectomy
- Crown lengthening
- Plastic and reconstructive peridontal surgery
