Extractions and bone augmentation

A careful extraction of the tooth is performed to minimise the trauma to surrounding alveolar bone of the tooth. At Wyndham Periodontics & Dental Implants, these extractions are performed with Piezosurgery.

In instances of bone deficiency, bone augmentation with the use of a bone graft can be performed to increase the volume of the available bone. Augmentation can be done at the time of extraction or during the implant placement. It usually takes about 4-6 months for the augmented site to mature to receive a dental implant.
